Artwork Description
The traditions associated with Befana are various, full of secrets and metamorphoses. The arrival of the Befana coincides with the awakening of spring, with the life of plants and animals. The work done for these paintings was long but satisfying, I paint by layering the gouache starting with a very watered base to a final thickness. I was able to experiment with dark colours but in contrast the bright orange gives a sense of magic.
