Artwork Description
This is a picture book with a repetitive structure, using two beats to weave the story: the first beat has the animals looking directly at the reader, and the second beat poetically depicts the animals’ ideal living scenes. Reality and imagination intertwine, alternating between narratives on single pages and double spreads. This book explores ways of seeing and the relationships between people, animals, and nature.
