Artwork Description

These drawings are inspired by the story of the Roman football player Agostino Di Bartolomei, who won the Scudetto in 1982-83 and led his team with the 1984 Champions League Final, which they lost against Liverpool. Ten years later, on the anniversary of that defeat, he committed suicide. "Ago" (so they all called him) was from Rome, he was a Rome supporter and the team captain, as he had always dreamed of as a child. He was a very shy man, the opposite of a star—this makes him much loved by football supporters until today.
