In a carousel, we don’t see any human-figure rides, because we don’t think of humans as objects. But we do for animals, so we use them as carousel figures. There is a relationship of power between the rides and the merry-go-rounders. In reality, there is also a relationship of power between humans. The artist wants to show that such relationship goes on and on, and that is the life we are living in.
