“If—” is a poem by Joseph Rudyard Kipling dedicated to his twelve-year-old son, John. The piece was voted twice the favourite poem of Britain. These illustrations draw inspiration from the poem, adopting John’s perspective and setting the background in the time before he headed to the battlefield. They also show flashbacks of John’s happy times during childhood.
